Updated July 2026 Note

Pet-friendly dining policies can change quickly, especially for indoor seating, mall outlets, peak-hour rules, and pet size restrictions. We recommend checking directly with each café or restaurant before visiting. This guide focuses on indoor, air-conditioned, or indoor-friendly pet-friendly options, but availability may differ by outlet, timing, and house rules.

It is also important to know that Singapore’s pet-friendly dining rules are not the same for every space. From 1 January 2025, retail food businesses no longer need additional SFA approval to allow patrons to dine with pets at Outdoor Refreshment Areas, if they are not serving pet food. This does not mean every indoor restaurant automatically allows pets, so always check the venue’s latest house rules before visiting.

Indoor Pet-Friendly vs Outdoor Pet-Friendly: What’s the Difference?

Not every “pet-friendly” café means pets are allowed indoors.

Some cafés welcome pets only at outdoor or alfresco areas. Some allow pets indoors only if they are in a carrier, stroller, or specific pet-friendly zone. Others are fully indoor pet-friendly and may even offer a pet menu.

Before heading down, check:

  • Are pets allowed indoors or only outdoors?
  • Are large dogs allowed?
  • Are cats allowed if they are in a carrier?
  • Are there peak-hour restrictions?
  • Is a reservation required?
  • Is there a pet menu, or is the space pet-friendly only for dine-in?
  • Are pets allowed on the floor only, or can they sit on pet furniture?

A quick message before visiting can save you and your pet a lot of stress.

Bonus: Outdoor Pet-Friendly Options to Check

Some popular cafés and restaurants are pet-friendly, but may only welcome pets at outdoor or alfresco seating areas.

For example, Lola’s is a well-loved café option, but current listings suggest that pets are welcomed at outdoor seating rather than indoors. This means it may still be suitable for a casual brunch, but it should not be treated as an indoor or air-conditioned pet-friendly option.

If you are visiting an outdoor pet-friendly spot, avoid the hottest parts of the day and bring water, a cooling mat, wipes, and a towel for your furkid.

Tips Before Bringing Your Pet to a Café or Restaurant

Before heading to any pet-friendly café or restaurant, do a quick check.

1. Call or message ahead

Pet policies may change. Some places allow pets indoors only on certain days, during certain hours, or in specific zones.

2. Check your pet’s comfort level

Not every pet enjoys cafés. If your pet is anxious around strangers, other dogs, children, or loud sounds, choose quieter timings.

3. Bring the basics

Pack a water bowl, leash, carrier if needed, wipes, poop bags, cooling mat, and a small towel. These simple items can make the outing smoother.

4. Keep your pet close

Even in pet-friendly places, not every guest may be comfortable around animals. Keep your pet leashed, calm, and away from other tables.

5. Watch for stress signals

Panting, pacing, hiding, barking, trembling, or refusing treats may mean your pet needs a break.

6. Respect house rules

Some cafés allow pets only on the floor. Some may not allow pets on chairs, laps, or sofas. Follow the venue’s rules so more places can continue welcoming pets.

7. Update your pet profile before heading out

Make sure your pet’s key details, emergency contact, and important notes are updated before going out.

Important: The PawketPlace App has a Lost Pet QR feature in each pet profile, created for the event that your pet ever goes missing. We hope you will never need it — but before heading out, it is always better to be prepared.

Final Thoughts

Indoor and pet-friendly cafés make life easier for Singapore pawrents, especially with our heat, humidity, and sudden rain. But the best outing is not just about finding a place that allows pets. It is about choosing a space where your pet can feel safe, comfortable, and included.

Whether you are planning a brunch, dinner, coffee run, or weekend catch-up, start with your pet’s comfort first. Because pet-friendly should not just mean pets are allowed. It should mean pets are considered.

At PawketPlace, we believe pet-friendly living is not just about finding places to go. It is about helping pawrents plan better, prepare better, and care with more confidence.
